Brief Description of Procedure:
Generally, clients are put under the source of LED light lamps, which could be blue, red or yellow. There are also different LED wavelengths available, which is used for different reasons.

When you are put under the light, your eyes are covered then with the goggles to avoid the brightness of the lamp. This is not a painful procedure at all. Depending on your problem, you are put under the LED light for about 20 minutes or so. There is no pain associated or any other complications.

Who are the Best Candidates for this treatment?
Patients with certain condition might benefit from LED therapy:

What areas can be treated?
Any areas of the skin can be treated. The LED light source is put on front of the target area.

How does the treatment work?
LED therapy works by sending the certain wavelength of to light to the underlying tissue and interacts at the cellular level. Besides causing collagen to build in the skin, it also kills P. acne bacteria in a patient with acne problems depending on the light source. Blue light penetrates, superficial and is more effective in killing the P. acne bacteria. Red light penetrates deeper and also kills the P. acne bacteria, and also used for rejuvenation and scar improvement. Yellow light also is used for rejuvenation.

How long does the treatment take?
Treatment generally takes about 20 minutes

What are the benefits of procedure?
This procedure is most simple painless and effective over the time. Unlike the IPL, which is Intense Pulse Light this therapy does not cause any warmth, pain or any chances of burn. This does not require any preparation or any precautions.

How many treatments will I need?
Depending on the condition treated your physician will determine how many treatments are needed. For acne, this could be used in combination with photodynamic therapy, micro dermabrasion or chemical peel.

What kinds of results can I expect? And how fast do I see the results?
You will see the response after a series of treatments are completed and the benefits will still continue after that. You will see the response after about eight treatments. For anti aging to continue benefit you need to continue maintenance treatments. For the acne, you also need maintenance treatment as recommended by your physician every three months.

Are the Treatments safe and painless?
These treatments are absolutely pain-free. Most people find it very relaxing and go to sleep during this procedure. It is also used by psychiatrist for treatment of depression sometimes. It is also used by the surgeons after the surgery to improve the scar appearance. It is very safe for any age or race or skin type. Patient with the rosacea needs to start at low settings.

Do I need any preparation before the procedure?
You do not need any preparation prior to the procedure, unless the procedure is done in combination with photodynamic therapy which involves application of ALA.

What kind of recovery period is needed after the procedure?
There is no downtime and that is no side effects from the treatment. You can return to your activities immediately after the procedure.
